What about the water?

El Encanto provides purified drinking water. Our tap water is safe for bathing, and it’s drinkable after boiling.

What are my food options?

You can buy a number of fresh organic herbs, fruits and vegetables from El Encanto’s own gardens. These are the same quality ingredients that go into much of the delicious cuisine we prepare for  guests who’s meals are included with their workshop or seminar.   Our specialties include baked or broiled sea bass, shrimp scampi, pasta al pesto, and enormous fresh salads. In the nearby town, you’ll find many seafood restaurants and taco stands.

What about traveler's checks or credit cards?

Traveler’s checks are a problem in Mexico. It’s best to use ATM cards and cash. There is an ATM in San Blas (14 miles to the north).

Is a work exchange of some kind possible?

If you’re an experienced, skilled, self-motivated laborer in the areas of construction, plumbing, electricity, irrigation, permaculture, forestry, alternative energy sources, landscape work or gardening, you might be interested in an exchange of labor for lodging. If you’d like to apply, please send a resume, a letter of interest with a brief description of your personal and professional goals, a list of three references with phone numbers and e-mail addresses {if possible}, the dates you’re interested in coming, and how to get in touch with you. Four hours labor exchange per day is the average with laborers providing for their own meals.
